Faculty of Sports Science welcomed children participating in the “Child University” program on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026. The program was launched under the main theme “Children Scientists for a Better Future”, along with the interactive slogan “Learn, Discover, Participate, and Be Active”. The activities were held as part of the fruitful cooperation between the faculty and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.
   The activities were organized as part of the commitment of the university to strengthening its community role, under patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University; Prof. Mahmoud Salim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Hany Sa’eed, Faculty Dean; and Prof. Heba Rawhy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. The program was supervised and coordinated by Prof. Samir Qamh, the University Program Coordinator, and Dr. Ahmed Awad, the Faculty Program Coordinator.
   For her part, Prof. Heba Rawhy explained that the faculty participation stems from its commitment to promoting sports culture. She noted that the activities were designed to help children rediscover their athletic potential through comprehensive physical assessments conducted under the supervision of a team of specialists led by Prof. Amr Halwish, Professor of Sports Movement Sciences at the Faculty.
   The program, supervised by Dr. Asmaa Zalaa’ and members of the assistant academic staff Dr. Zainab Ghali, Dr. Reem Suwailam, and Dr. Nora Saber, with the participation of Faculty students, featured a variety of activities. These included a welcoming and interactive session at the faculty theater, as well as an introductory tour of the faculty facilities and sports fields.
   In conclusion, the activities highlight the leading role of Tanta University and Faculty of Sports Science in nurturing young students and supporting talent at the early stages of education. Early identification of gifted young athletes is a cornerstone of developing future champions, reflecting the commitment of the university to advancing sports development and contributing to the soft power on the global stage.
