Under the slogan ‘Together Toward an Inclusive Future,’ the Presidential Empowerment Initiative was launched under the patronage of the President of the Republic and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The initiative aims to raise awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities within the university community and to facilitate all means of accessibility, inclusion, and participation in all student activities across the university.
Tanta University played a leading role in this initiative under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, President of the University, Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Rania El-Imam, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education at Tanta University, Prof. Mohamed Zain El-Abedeen, Director of the University Disability Center and Prof. Naglaa El-Halaby, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education for Education and Student Affairs.
The University Disability Center, headquartered at the Faculty of Arts, organized an event on Thursday, October 13, 2025, as part of the Presidential Empowerment Initiative. The event was attended by the Faculty of Specific Education at Tanta University, with the participation of its deaf and hard-of-hearing students and faculty members from the Home Economics Department.
