In the context of the permanent quest of Tanta University to upgrade scientific research and to encourage and support researchers on improving quality of scientific research outputs at the University, Prof. Mustafa Al-Sheikh, Tanta University Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, has announced the start of applying for the best master’s and PhD thesis award in implementation of the approval given by Tanta University Council chaired by Prof. Magdi Sab', University President, for creating an award entitled “The Best Master’s\ PhD Thesis” at the University. The award is 10 thousand pounds for the PhD thesis and 8 thousand pounds for the master’s thesis. The award is distributed equally between the researcher and the supervision committee of the thesis.
Prof. Mustafa Al-Sheikh has indicated that applying for the competition is via the Faculty that nominates two master’s theses and two PhD theses. Eight copies of each thesis have to be delivered in Arabic and in English. Moreover, an electronic copy is submitted to Missions Administration at the University starting from March 1, 2019 to next April 15th according to models and bylaw of 2018-2019.
It is worth mentioning that there will be 12 awards in different fields. In the field of medical sciences, there are 4 awards of master’s and PhD theses for applicants from faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Nursing. In the field of humanities, there will be 4 awards also for applicants from faculties of Law, Art, Commerce, Education, Physical Education and Specific Education. In addition, 4 awards will be granted in the field of basic sciences, engineering and agriculture for applicants from faculties of Science, Engineering and Agriculture.
